The ‌‌‌‌macOS Sonoma‌‌ 14.3‌.1 update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Settings.

Today's update addresses a frustrating ‌macOS Sonoma‌ bug that could cause text to get randomly replaced while typing. There have been multiple complaints about the issue, which affected web pages and apps like Mail and Messages.

The problem has persisted for several months, and has been an issue through multiple versions of Sonoma.

A 923MB update to fix a text rendering bug. So much for efficiency.
Actually, when the download starts it turns into 1.47GB. That's a lot.

Really wonder why every OS update from Apple takes an eternity to update. They need to streamline the update like Windows. Needs to split app like Apple Music as standalone and not part of OS update.

I don't even use Apple Music.

And you know that’s the only change, how?
It's not the only change. It's the only change specifically named in the Release notes. Along with "bugfixes" or something like that. Even so, it's a very inefficient update system, don't you think?

Still no fix for external USB drives constantly disconnecting
That's been a problem since Big Sur and I'm 99%+ convinced that only Apple debugging port management in macOS can resolve it. There are MANY threads about this with many people chiming in, using all kinds of different Macs, cables, enclosures, firmware, etc... so it's quite obvious that this is not a "blame anything other than Apple" issue.

Most d*mning are examples by more than one person who updated a Mac that was working perfectly fine with an external enclosure BEFORE Big Sur who then upgraded to Big Sur or newer and crashed into this problem. Since they needed reliable storage more than they needed the updated macOS, some then downgraded back to macOS before Big Sur and the enclosure was fine again. To me, that thoroughly rules out all of the typical "not Apple" variables except macOS because all variables remained the same after the upgrade and then after the downgrade.

I keep hoping Apple will get around to debugging the ports but it's been YEARS now. I miss "just works" Apple.
